Adavanced Youth Ride Program
The Advanced Youth Ride Program wrapped up another exciting summer filled with energy, growth, and a love for mountain biking. Over the course of July and August, young riders gathered every Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 to build skills, challenge themselves, and most importantly, have fun on the trails. With eight total sessions, participants had plenty of opportunities to ride advanced single-track, test their endurance, and gain confidence in their abilities.
This program was specially designed for 3rd to 5th graders who are ready to take the next step in their riding. Each week, riders tackled about five miles of technical single-track in just under an hour, developing not only their physical endurance but also the bike handling skills needed for more advanced terrain. Their progress was impressive, and it was clear that many of these riders have the potential to grow into strong athletes and lifelong riders.
A big part of the program’s success came from the incredible support network behind it. Parents, coaches, and Wausau United Ride (WUR) athletes all played an essential role in encouraging and guiding the kids throughout the season. Their dedication created a welcoming and motivating environment that allowed the riders to thrive. The Advanced Youth Ride Program is more than just a weekly ride—it’s a community effort that inspires young riders and helps shape the future of mountain biking in our area.
