Coaching Staff
Our team is led by a dedicated group of coaches with diverse backgrounds and experiences that help our riders grow both on and off the trails. Our coaching staff includes parents, former NICA athletes, and mountain bike enthusiasts who are eager to share their love for riding with the next generation. All coaches are trained in important areas such as safety management, team dynamics, ride oversight, and youth sports psychology. Safety is a top priority for us, so all coaches undergo background checks, and several are trained in CPR and First Aid.

The best part of coaching is interacting with the student/athletes. They are FUN!
Favorite Place to Ride: Slickrock, Moab Ut. at Sunset! Beautiful!!
COACH BLOCK – Head Coach – Teen Trail Corps Coordinator
It’s great to see the athletes grow from middle school through their high school years. From strength to speed, skills and confidence both on and off the bike.
Favorite Place to Ride: Don’t really have a favorite, but you can find me most often at Ringle Trails.

COACH WOLF – GRiT Coordinator
I most enjoy coaching when we facilitate for riders a space for feelings of: FUN, belonging, a desire to push to their next level, rewrites what they expect of themselves, being enough just as you are, advancing only through hard-work and goal attainment.
Favorite Place to Ride: Lebanon Hills MN
COACH STUBB – Adventure Team Coordinator
I love the fun and positive energy that comes with riding with student athletes. It never fails to bring a smile to my face.
Favorite Place to Ride: Marquette, MI or WinMan Trails

COACH CROFT – Head Coach
I coach because there’s nothing better than seeing student athletes push their limits, conquer tough trails, and discover the pure joy of the sport. It’s all about having fun, overcoming obstacles, and watching riders grow—both on and off the bike!
Favorite Place to Ride: WinMan Trails
COACH CHRISTIN – Head Coach
I caught the mountain bike bug during Covid when I started riding with my oldest son. I coach because it allows me to witness firsthand how young athletes build character and confidence as they navigate the various challenges they face both on and off the course.
Favorite Place to Ride: Anywhere with punchy hills and I enjoy endurance mountain bike races.

COACH FAUST – Team Director – Youth Ride Coordinator
Coaching mountain biking is an incredibly rewarding experience, allowing me to share my passion for the sport while helping to inspire the next generation of riders. I love seeing young riders build their skills, gain confidence, and tackle challenges on the trail. Teaching them about bike maintenance and trail etiquette adds another layer of fulfillment, as it equips them with knowledge that enhances their riding experience and promotes respect for the trails and community.
Favorite Place to Ride: Nine Mile
Interested in becoming a coach?
Do you enjoy riding and want to help more kids get on bikes? We’re expanding our team and always looking for new coaches. Whether you’re experienced or just starting out, we welcome everyone who wants to inspire the next generation of riders. Having coaches with different backgrounds allows us to pair them with ride groups, making sure we maintain a safe coach-to-rider ratio at every practice. We know your time is valuable but even coaching just one day a week can make a big difference for our team.
The Coaches Licensing Program includes three levels of coaches. Higher levels have more training and is required for Head Coaches, Ride Leaders, and Team Directors. All license coaches are covered by comprehensive liability insurance provided by the League for the duration of the season.
LEVEL 1
This is the minimum requirement for all adults riding with NICA High School Teams. This license protects volunteers with comprehensive insurance and protects our youth with background checks. Level 1 coaches assist as directed by the head coach and generally participate in practices, gaining skills alongside student athletes.
LEVEL 2
This is the recommended training level for all adults riding with NICA High School Teams in the ride support role. Level 1 requirements but also add CPR, on the bike skills courses, and a minimum of 20 hours riding with the team, gaining valuable experience. Level 2 coaches assist level 3 coaches with advanced tasks, such as leading rides.
LEVEL 3
This level is required for all Head Coaches and Team Directors. All Wisconsin League teams are required to have a licensed Head Coach and Team Director.
