WUR takes DC Everest Junior High for a ride.
Twelve enthusiastic students from D.C. Everest Junior High School have been gearing up—literally and figuratively—as they dive into the world of mountain biking. Through a hands-on program focused on skill development, trail riding, and bike maintenance, these young riders are learning far more than how to shift gears.
Led by Wausau United Ride experienced mountain biking coaches, the program emphasizes key riding techniques such as body positioning, braking, cornering, and trail awareness. Students are not only developing physical fitness and bike handling confidence but also discovering the joys of singletrack trail riding on our local trails.
In addition to time in the saddle, students are also rolling up their sleeves to learn the basics of mountain bike maintenance. From fixing a flat to checking over bikes and brake function, these riders are gaining valuable knowledge that fosters self-reliance and keeps their bikes running smoothly.
